If it's 0-0 after 3 minutes I'll feel incredibly confident

The aggregate of all games at the Bowl with them is 22-1

A draw would be the best we could get based on that. They have never scored less than 4!

So as Moyes said we need to at least give them some problems and see where that takes us. Let them know they have been in a game for once. Play as well as we can.

Still likely to be a defeat but would be progress.

A win is probably too much to hope for, but I don't expect another shattering defeat. Just seeing the energy and desire in the team at the moment, closing players down and running into space, makes me much less apprehensive about our performance today.

As long as we give it a go and don’t get our pants pulled down again, embarrassing against these lot recently regardless of how good they are. One of Diop or Fredricks needs to start to help with Sterling.

This will hinge on whether Rice and Soucek can close down the central spaces and break up City's passing

Could be a more even game than usual if they succeed,

With De Bruyne missing we just might have a chance as long as we keep the same shape and level of intensity.

De Bruyne is fit along with Laporte.

I always go into a game thinking we can win.

Sometimes my optimism is misplaced.

About time we beat this lot at home, we always do much better at there place for some reason? When I say better, we lose but not by as much, 5 outings for Man City at the Cesspit and 22 goals scored by them, that must be by far there best ground away from home stats in the last 5 seasons………..the cunts!

Today we take a step back and reduce that Scored 1, conceded 22....by tea time in the UK it will be 3 and 23 as we edge a 2-1 home win.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread
This for me is the first time in recent seasons that we genuinely look like we can give them a game. This is because as well as City seemingly below their recent level, defensively, our team knows what commitment and working hard for one another can achieve.

I’d be surprised if we do not register at least a goal but the question is can we keep them out for 90 minutes.

A draw looks most likely to me.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread
This is Manchester City. In our recent form against them, they have won 5/5, and put 4 or more goals past us in 3/5.

They know how to undo us, better than any other side.

Obviously, 1-0 to the Irons. Probably. Possibly. Maybe?

Normally, when we go into a game like this, I feel reasonably optimistic about our chances, but as the game approaches I get more and more down. Not quite to Sir Alf proportions but you know what I mean.

Today is very strange. As we get nearer to kick off, I'm finding that I'm getting more and more sure of pulling off a result. What's going on with me? I don't like it.

3-2 btw.

This is West Ham. Please do not Jinx us by actually expecting a result.
